Large characteristic dining rooms are available.
White gnocchetti
from Valchiavenna
Although they are sometimes called Valchiavenna pizzoccheri, they should not be confused with Valtellina pizzoccheri, which are buckwheat-based. Gnocchetti are soft and white, made from simple ingredients such as potatoes, flour and water.
They are seasoned with plenty of butter, local cheese and usually flavoured with garlic and sage.
A rustic and tasty dish, typical of our culinary tradition.
Local red wine
A nice little 10 cl glass bottle of red wine, ideal to accompany your lunch.

Civic tower and Collegiate of San Lorenzo
They represent two important historical symbols of Chiavenna.
The Civic Tower, of medieval origin, dominates the city centre and was once used for defence and control purposes.
The Collegiate Church of San Lorenzo, with its Romanesque-style church, holds precious sacred artworks and bears witness to centuries of local faith and history.
Together, these monuments represent the balance of civil and religious power in the history of Valchiavenna.
Poiatengo canal
An important testimony of industrial archaeology in Chiavenna.
This canal is a fundamental part of the city’s industrial and craft history, as for centuries it provided the energy needed to run various workshops along the Mera river.
Its stone construction, with a raised arch structure, makes it an interesting example of hydraulic engineering from the past.
The canal dates back to the second half of the 1700s, with reconstruction in reinforced concrete following the flood of 1927.
The rebirth of the canal in 2015, with the return of water to the last section and the addition of the Fountain of the Wayfarer, designed by architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni, symbolises a tribute to the area’s craft and industrial tradition.
Pratogiano park
It is not only a green area, but also a place rich in history.
Originally part of an agricultural area, it was transformed into a public park in the 20th century.
Its strategic location at the foot of the mountains has made it an important meeting point for the community.
Over the years, it has hosted cultural events and local festivals, helping to strengthen the sense of identity and belonging among the inhabitants.
Today, the park is a symbol of social life and connection with nature.
